But this generation of countertop RO uses a thick-film heating module. The water passes through the heating chamber and reaches the set temperature almost instantly. No tank, no standby energy loss, no wait.
That instant hot water is a game changer in an office. We've got tea drinkers, pour-over coffee people, and at least three employees who make instant noodles. The G3P600's hot water function has cut our electric kettle usage dramatically—about three seconds to get a cup of hot water versus two minutes with the kettle. The Cloud RO doesn't offer hot water at all, which limits its usefulness in a workplace.
The Total Cost Surprise
It's tempting to think you can win this comparison by just looking at the purchase price. But identical specs from different vendors can result in wildly different outcomes.

The expensive-looking Waterdrop unit ends up just $58 more over three years—roughly $1.60 per month. You get hot water, a smaller footprint, better filter tracking, and a taste profile that our employees preferred. In my book, that's a bargain, not a premium.
Now, I don't want to pretend this is a universal conclusion. I do not mean every office will see the same numbers—just that mine did. I've also seen this exact pattern outside the water category. Personally, if you ask me, the G3P600 is the better recommendation for most offices. The tankless design and instant hot water aren't nice-to-haves in our breakroom; they're actual workflow improvements. But for a small office with a less demanding water habit, the Cloud RO could absolutely be the smarter financial choice.
